We love to get creative over here, but sometimes the classics are the best. Rice Krispy treats take us back to childhood memories. Those sweet snacks in lunchboxes, it was the go-to-school treat. This is a simple, no bake, rice krispy treat with a punch of protein. Convenient, satisfy the sweet tooth snacks that are great for kids and use ingredients you already have in your pantry? Relive the joy of an American favorite, now infused with the rich taste of peanut butter.
Ingredients
6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
½ cup PB Americano Classic Peanut Butter, or Choco Blanco Peanut Butter
2 Tbls Unsalted Butter
1 10 oz bag of Mini Marshmallows
Directions
Prep a 9 x 13-inch pan by spraying it with no-stick cooking spray and, if desired, line with parchment paper.
Place the butter in a large pot, and melt over medium heat. Once melted, add the Peanut Butter of your choice, and stir briefly to combine.
Add the Marshmallows, and stir constantly until all the Marshmallows have melted.
Turn off the heat, add the Rice Krispy cereal, and stir to coat well. Note: If the mixture begins to cool too quickly, you can place the pot back on to low heat to loosen it a little.
Using a spatula that has been sprayed with no-stick spray, transfer the mixture into the prepared pan, and press evenly. Note: If you wish you may also press the mixture with your clean hands, that have also been sprayed with no-stick spray.
Allow for treats to cool for at least one hour or until set. Then remove from the pan, cut into squares, and serve.
